“Participant hours" refer to the total number of hours spent by all participants in a lesson. It is calculated by multiplying the number of participants by the duration of the lesson. Examples: A 30-min lesson with 5 participants = 2.5 participant hours. A 1-hour lesson with 10 participants = 10 participant hours.

Yes, teachers are also counted as participants for cobrowser usage, as our third-party provider bills per participant. However, for lesson hours, Funclass only starts billing participant hours when there are at least two participants in the classroom.

Co-browser time is calculated to the minute, and only while the co-browser is open and launched for more than one participant. On average, our active users accumulate less than 6 participant hours of co-browser per week - you can expect similar usage when you teach 10 25-minute lessons per week. There are also several tricks you can employ to minimise your co-browser usage: Close the co-browser when you don't need it - e.g. during welcome and goodbye chit-chat Save URLs on a digital sticky note, so you can relaunch the cobrowser quickly as needed Monitor your co-browser usage within your teacher portal settings Use screen share whenever an activity or learning segment doesn't need to be interactive Use the 'share video as content' button instead of streaming video over the co-browser (although this doesn't work for Chinese students).
